New Teams Join The SMITE Pro League

The Season 4 SMITE Pro League Summer Split will feature some new faces in the European region, while members of the old guard continue their bid for success in North America with some new additions to their rosters.

Spanish squad The Papis have been trying to get into the league since Season Two, and finally managed to climb out of the Challenger Circuit on the back of a flawless record in the weekend’s Relegation series.  It took a major roster swap for the other new team, Optimus Gang, to find success and a Pro League spot, but the personnel changes produced the right results, as OG move on to the Summer Split as pro players.

EU Pro League teams Sanguine and Novus Orsa couldn’t get much going over the weekend, and they will drop down to the Challenger Circuit.  One bright spot for Sanguine: the team got their first win of the Spring Split on Saturday, officially relegating fellow pros Novus Orsa before crashing out of the competition themselves.

The status quo was maintained across the Atlantic, as both Flash Point and Noble held on to their Pro League positions with relative ease.  A couple of new players, mid laner Jon Sheyka and Kevin “DanteLeFargo” Doobay in solo lane, spiced up the Flash Point roster as they cruised into the SPL on the back of a 3 – 0 finish.  For their part, Noble eSports also saw some roster changes, bringing in Matthew “Copebby” Irish and Ryan “Aquarius” O’Neill to replace Andy “ElChapo” Leon and Arthur “Uzzy” Asherov for relegations.
